Ideation Session & Social

  • The Coterie (KG Level 4, Z1 ‘The Works’) 34 Parer Place (via Musk Ave) Kelvin Grove, Queensland Australia (map)

Who can come to the ideation session?

Ideation sessions are ideal for people of all backgrounds and experience levels. For people who have no experience, an ideation session is a great introduction to the world of startups, and possibly a chance to join one!

For people who have a general idea and need inspiration, attending an ideation session will help you brainstorm ideas and learn from experienced mentors.

For people who already have a great concept for a startup and want to refine and develop their idea, ideation sessions will let you work closely with mentors and peers to fine tune your business plan and get it ready to launch.

What happens at this workshop?

The session will begin with a presentation by startup ecosystem specialist and business coach Colin Kinner. This presentation will focus on the process of ideation, identifying opportunities and spotting good ideas.

Afterwards, the session will break off into small groups to discuss any ideas or questions are on their mind. Later, thought-provoking mentors will rotate around the room to stimulate discussion and offer their insight on the ideas each group develops.

What do you get out of it?

At the end of the session, you will be left with a whole room full of sticky notes and hopefully a great idea to develop throughout the program. An ideation session is the perfect place to find inspiration or good advice, so it doesn’t matter if you have an almost-ready idea or no clue at all.

This is also where you can start to form teams for the final Showcase in O-week, though these won’t be locked in until launch.
